If you haven’t been to one of our Evolution of Gestalt gatherings at Esalen Institute in the past seven years, these are intimate (only about 60 folk) gatherings that function as an active, co-contibutory theory-and-methods seminar — AND also offer a rich range of a couple of dozen afternoon workshops in latest practice methods, plus a rich learning community having a lot of fun – in the context of a week at the magical setting of the Esalen Institute in Big Sur California. #1 in 05 was on New Directions in Gestalt – Field Theory and how to make use of it. # 2, in 07 I think, was on kids and development, entitled Relational Child/Relational Brain. (Both these first 2 have collected books that are already out -check the bookstore on this website).
#3 was on Gestalt Coaching — What Is it? #4 on Embodiment (2011 I think). And now # 5, on Couples, March 10-15, 2013.
With each one we ask the basic questions: What’s the state of the art in this field? What does a field-relational Gestalt model have to contribute to this rich stew? And then how is Gestalt itself evolved in the process — what emerges, in the articulation and evolution of our own Gestalt perspective, by bringing this powerful creative lens to bear on this particular area? And then each one produces a collected book.
If you have been with us before for one or more of these exciting events, then you know how much fun they’ve been, how much deep thought has been evoked and provoked, and how much new theory and application has come out of them. There’s still some space, but choice of accomodations is going fast — go online and register. And then email us if you’re interested in one of the remaining open workshop slots, as Deb says. — and get ready for a magical winter time at Esalen! see you soon in Big Sur —
